About this course
Our 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is an Ofqual-regulated qualification valid for three years, meeting the SIA requirement for new Door Supervisor licence applications and the widely accepted standard for first aiders in low-risk workplace environments such as offices, retail, schools, restaurants and event settings. Hands-on, practical training delivered by experienced first aid instructors.

Roles & Responsibilities
Workplace first aider responsibilities, accident book and reporting procedures.
Primary & Secondary Survey
DRSABCD assessment, recovery position, calling 999/112.
CPR & AED
Adult CPR practice on manikins, automated external defibrillator use.
Common Injuries & Conditions
Choking, bleeding, shock, burns, fractures, head injuries, asthma, anaphylaxis, heart attack and stroke.
Assessment
Continuous practical assessment by your instructor — no formal exam.
Resits: Re-attendance available at a reduced rate.
Career opportunities
Workplace First Aider
Employers should assess their first-aid needs under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and make appropriate arrangements — an EFAW-qualified first aider is a common outcome of that assessment for low-risk workplaces.
SIA Licence Application
EFAW is mandatory for new SIA Door Supervisor licence applications.
